As a musician and music teacher, I have a vast amount of experience teaching and moderating GCSE music. I am registered with the UK government DBS update service and have taught and performed music all over the world. I hold a Bmus (hons) degree and Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

Sometimes students in any GCSE music class can feel like they are not getting enough feedback to support them with their coursework. Maybe there is not enough time in lessons to do everything you need or there are distractions. It could be performance, composition or related to the written exam.
It doesn't matter which exam board you are doing, I can help you!
I have two services which I offer:
1) £35 per hour for online (or local in person) private music lessons. This could be to help you with a component of the course, performance skills or any element of music where you need help.
2) £25 one off payment for me to check over your work (performance or composition), estimate what mark you will be awarded using the official exam board mark scheme and provide you with very detailed feedback and suggestions on how to improve.

For GCSE students of school age (rather than adult learners) I will only accept correspondence from your parent/career and where possible, I prefer NOT to be told the name of the school attended.
After sending you feedback, the work you sent me will be deleted, but I will still be on hand to answer any follow up questions you might have to help clarify anything.
I will not engage in any disputes with music teachers or schools, this is merely a private tutoring style lesson to help any students out there, UK or overseas, to work towards getting a higher mark for your GCSE music.
Following the feedback provided, I strongly recommend you discuss any new ideas you have with your teacher. Your compositions especially need to be done under controlled and timed circumstances. Avoid returning to your teacher with a newly completed or enhanced composition, if a student of mine did this, I would not submit that piece of work. Your teacher must have regular updates on your compositional progress and ideally telling your teacher that you are engaging in some private lessons will only help, and show your teacher that you are keen to improve.
Under no circumstances will I be composing music for you, writing documents for you or doing anything that would breach the expectations that any exam board has of any school teacher that is preparing students for GCSE courses. I can help to make sure that the work you are submitting is suitable and accurate.
No refund will be provided if you disagree with the feedback or are not happy with it. You are welcome to ask questions and I will always do my best to help. If I estimate a mark for a piece of work, there is no guarantee that will be the final mark you are awarded by your teacher assessor.
I already have some GCSE music related blog posts and I suggest reading these prior to getting in touch with me. Here are the past posts:
I look forward to being able to help. Good Luck!
