Over the coming months, I am going to start featuring female euphonium players in an interview. I will aim to post one per week. There has been negativity online recently about the lack of support for female brass players, so I thought it would be nice to use my blog to show my support and shine the spotlight on some amazing individuals from all walks of life around the world.
This blog series is being supported and designed by Nicky Glover and Emily Braverman, who are terrific brass players, teachers and parents themselves. My daughter Lucy is also helping with the interview process. Subscribe to see the posts as soon as they are published and hopefully some of those pictured above will agree to be involved.
If you would like to be featured or would like to nominate someone, just drop me an email or leave a comment below.
I will require you to share a photo, holding your instrument, answer some interview questions and share any video recording you would like to use. It will be an opportunity for female euphonium players of any age, ability or location to be celebrated and to share some of their experiences to inspire us all.
I am hopefully going to be featuring euphonium players working in the military, playing with brass bands at all levels, those who play the euphonium as a hobby, some music students and hopefully also some of the very best euphonium players around today.
